Where does the energy for vanity come from ?

In the past, it came from deep desire for a prettier version of myself. Today, investment into vanity no longer gives me the same kind of return on happiness. I cant muster the energy to keep at it.

There is a big difference in my face with grooming and without. I let myself go and don’t feel good about it. I want to make an effort again.

None of the steps listed above are over the top, wasteful or frivolous. Cultivating a habit is probably the way to keep at it without subjecting to fluctuations in my interest in vanity.
